I'm Getting EdTechnologized!

3 years ago, I was clueless as to how will I be able to teach a subject called Educational Technology knowing that I'm a mathematics professor. I was the newest member of the faculty back then that's why I was given the subject (that's what I heard but have not confirmed as to this date). So, to cut the story short I was given the subject and till now I'm still teaching it. Thanks to my knowledge in computer!

I have to admit, I enjoyed (since then) teaching student-teachers how to integrate technology in the classroom. Although, the subject is very challenging 'cause a lot of the students are not equipped with technical skills like operating the computer, editing videos, etc... But that was before! You must see them develop their educational blog now. You might be surprised how good they are in designing their blogs and how creative they are in coming up with their posts! It feels great to see them embrace the use of technology when most educators refuse to give up their traditional ways! Although I know that I'm still starting to really get the feel of being educational technologist, I'm pretty sure that my students and I are heading in the right direction.

Aside from the softwares that I introduce in my Mathematics and Educational Technology classes, educational blogging is closest to my heart. I've seen the many wonders of blogging in my classes for the past three years, from highly motivated students to a more meaningful and enjoyable learning. In fact, the students talk about their blogs even in our lecture classes!

Oops..just so you know...last year, I was invited to talk about "Educational Technology in the Classroom" during the DepEd-TEI Teacher Induction Program for Public School Teachers (May of 2009 and November of the same year) and I'm currently teaching Educational Technology at the Graduate School of my university.

I think I've been talking about educational technology on the entire post? Didn't I? Sorry...but that's what happens when you get edtechnologized!!

Ciao!
